Montserrat Monastery

The Montserrat mountain with the Benedictine Monastery Santa Maria de Montserrat is located about 45 km northwest of Barcelona. It was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries, and still functions to this day, with over 70 monks.

Caín

Caín de Valdeón, or just Caín as it is known, is one of the starting points for the Ruta del Cares, the most important and known trekking trail of the Picos de Europa. It is the lowest village of the Valle de Valdeón (460m) and is situated at the riverside of the Cares river, photographed here in the image. Caín, Picos de Europa National Park, Spain.
